DSA COMPULSORY BASIC TRAINING INSTRUCTOR
A CBT 1 classified DSA Approved Motorcycle Instructor will be entitled to establish, with the approval of the DSA, an Authorise Training Body, (ATB) once a suitable training site has been approved to conduct Compulsory Basic Training.
This will authorise the holder to establish a number of sites for just such a purpose AND to ‘down train’ other CBT instructors to conduct courses on behalf of that ATB, subject to strict regulations and supervision of the DSA CBT 1 qualified instructors will also be allowed to instruct trainee riders in on road riding up to DSA test standard, but trainees will be restricted to machines, not exceeding 125cc.
MCA offers an intensive raining course for would-be instructors wishing to achieve this standard. The duration of this course will be ten days. Normally conducted between Monday – Friday. It includes a comprehensive instructors manual and all other relevant study materials and training aids will be available. The first week will cover the syllabus for CBT and the second week candidates will be expected to participate in live and ‘role play’ situations to formulate personal skills essential to become an instructor.
We advise that as much practice as possible should be sought between the end of a course and the DSA assessment. We can provide you with this opportunity. Arrangements will be made for our fully prepared trainees to attend the DSA Training Establishment at Cardington for their CBT assessment course, after which, if successful, they will become qualified.
Attendance for the DSA assessment is over and above the ten day course and whilst every effort will be made to have this assessment take place close to the end of the course we have no control of the DSA course availability. Instructor Course CBT experienced candidate
This course is formulated for the same purpose as the previous course but designed to accommodate candidates with previous CBT or instructor/teaching experience. The duration of this course will be five days.
